Mugg & Bean On The Move – A Review

I find petrol station cafes overpriced especially for what they offer so when Mugg & Bean On The Move opened in Hurlingham, I had no interest to visit the place despite all the positive reviews it was receiving online. My friend recently hit me up for a breakfast date at the cafe and I obliged because I can never turn down free food.

There isn’t much to say about the ambiance of a cafe located within a convenience store so we will jump right to the food and drinks on offer.

Chicken and Mushroom Pie – Kshs 230

Its been a minute since I had a chicken pie and this one is one of the better ones Ive had. What I loved most was how creamy the filling was.

Coronation Chicken Roll –  Kshs 250

I Loved this roll. It was a perfect combination of sweet and savoury. Order this.

Savoury Mince Pie – Kshs 230

This pie is filled to the brim with mince! I found the mince meat filling a bit bland and under seasoned.

Beef Brie Onion Roll –  Kshs 350

On paper, this sounds delicious but what we got was rather disappointing. The Brie and the cheese were non-existent in taste. I’d give this a miss.

Bacon, Cheddar, Potato and Egg Bowl –  Kshs 400

This egg bowl was everything! The combination of flavours goes so well together. Im currently salivating thinking about this dish and highly recommend ordering this.

Chicken Mayo and Mozzarella Sandwich – Kshs 350

This was a great toasty and dare I say one of the best I’ve come across in the city. You can’t go wrong with creamy chicken and cheese sandwiched in between soft bread.

Berry Coconut and Lemon Freezo –  Kshs 350

When I saw this on the menu I thought the flavour pairings were odd but when I tasted it I was pleasantly surprised.

I Loved Loved everything about this freezo! The mango and coconut pair together so well making this the perfect drink to have over a sunny day.  A must order.

Mugg & Bean On The Move pleasantly surprised me with an experience much more than I expected. The pies are OK but my standouts were the egg bowl, sandwich, and Frezzos which were fantastic. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for breakfast and snacks on the go.
